Performance
Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security is respectful of resources and has a very small footprint – great news if you happen to have a low to mid-range PC. On most systems, Trend Micro 2011 will have almost no impact on performance.

Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2011 packs an extensive set of features that will help protect both your PC and your family while online. The antivirus and antimalware module provides protection against viruses, spyware and other Internet security threats via various scanning options. For example, you can set Trend Micro Internet Security to check for threats in web, email and instant messenger (IM) attachments, create a scanning schedule and specify whether compressed files are to be scanned and the level to which they should be scanned (whether a zipped .zip file is to be checked).
Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security includes all the features you would expect from a modern security suite for the home user, for example:
- Prevent unauthorized changes: This feature enables you to specify whether programs are to be permitted to perform certain actions such as modifying the Host file, creating auto-start entries and modifying system services.
- Firewall: A two-way firewall to protect your computer from external attacks and to prevent installed applications from “calling home” without your knowledge.
- Spam blocker: A spam filter that integrates with popular email clients to protect you from junk email.
- Parental controls: With pre-configured profiles for children, teens and mature teens, the parental controls also enable you to customize the profiles, block or permit certain categories of content (illegal drugs, chat, etc.) and set a web access schedule which controls when the internet can be accessed.
- Data theft prevention: This feature enables you to specify information – a credit card or telephone number, for example – that is not to be permitted to leave the computer via the web, email or instant messenger. It’s a great way to make sure that information doesn’t leak from your computer and that your kids do not give out information which they shouldn’t.

Firewall
The Trend Micro firewall includes all the standard features like zones (called “profiles” in this product), the ability to quickly modify the level of protection (using a slider control which ranges from Maximum to Minimum security), and an advanced interface, which allows you customize ports, program access, and proxy settings. The interface for the firewall is intuitive and easy to navigate.
