Editor's Review of Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security ("PC-cillin")
"Trend Micro Internet Security is a solid, well-rounded security suite well worth the fifty dollar price tag and is a step ahead of many of its competitors. With a very usable interface, strong detection tools, and a broad offering, this suite is a strong competitor in this very crowded space."
PCcillinSecurity.com tested Trend Micro Internet Security and were very happy with what we found. There is a reason why Trend Micro is one of the largest Internet Security brands in the world, and just like the previous version, Trend Micro PC-cillin Internet Security 2010, the newest version, 2011, doesn't let us down.

Installation
Compared to many other security solutions, Trend Micro Internet Security, formerly known as “PC-cillin”, is a snap to install. Trend Micro 2011 uses a small “download manager” – you download and run the manager and the manager then downloads and installs the main program files. Should the download be interrupted for any reason – for example, if you lose your Internet connection – you can easily resume at a later time.
Trend Micro Internet Security offers the choice of a Regular Installation or a Custom installation. Selecting the Regular Installation option will result in Trend Micro being installed with its recommended settings and, for most people, will be the best and easiest option.
The Trend Micro PC-cillin installer worked flawlessly and did not require much user interaction. Trend Micro Internet Security will disable Windows Firewall and Windows Defender at install time and install Trend Micro Personal Firewall in its place, in order to prevent future program conflicts. The installer requested that users activate the product at the end of the installation process but this can be bypassed and users can activate later.
However, if users choose not to activate their Trend Micro product at the time of installation, the first message they will see when launching Trend Micro Internet Security is that their system is not secure partly because they have not activated the product. Inactivated installations—including trial installations—cannot download updates and are not considered by Trend Micro to be securing the system. In order to activate, you must include an e-mail address. Once activated, the product will download signature updates—a process that worked flawlessly.

User Interface
Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security has an uncluttered and contemporary interface that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The main screen provides an overview of the protection status (you can fix any problems with a single-click) and the buttons on the left of the screen provide you with access to Trend Micro Internet Security’s various options and settings.
Overall, the interface is very well designed and makes navigation easy. You can easily and quickly find what you are looking for. The interface also has a pleasant color scheme and informative icons.
Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security includes an interesting feature that allows users to scale the amount of warnings and alerts she sees by using a slider. It’s not uncommon for security software to err with either too many warnings or not enough. Trend Micro lets the user decide how many he wants to see by adjusting the amount on a sliding scale.
